UK to Observe Honduras General Elections at CNE Invitation

Acting on an invitation from Honduras’ National Electoral Council (CNE), the British Embassy in Guatemala City-concurrently accredited to Honduras-will join an international mission observing the country’s general elections on Sunday 30 November 2025, according to a GOV.UK notice issued on 29 November.

The embassy said its observers will monitor preparations, polling, counting and the announcement of results, alongside an assessment of the wider electoral environment.

Findings will be assessed against Honduras’ legal framework and relevant international standards, with the UK reiterating support for elections that are free, fair, transparent and secure.

International observers are present to watch and report; they do not run the vote, direct electoral officials or rule on disputes. Their work complements domestic oversight and focuses on procedure, access and transparency rather than party outcomes.

The British Embassy in Guatemala City is concurrently accredited to Honduras and is participating under the CNE’s invitation as part of a broader international presence.

With voting scheduled today, 30 November 2025, the embassy’s team will be present through to the announcement of results and will contribute observations to the wider mission’s reporting.
